The session marked an important milestone in the EV Battery Recycling Pilot Project Indonesia, an initiative spearheaded by EKONID and supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN).̀ư

The project, which runs from October 2025 to September 2027, aims to support sustainable solutions across Indonesia’s growing electric vehicle ecosystem.̀ư

The session commenced with welcoming remarks from EKONID, followed by introductory remarks from DIHK Service GmbH’s Chambers for GreenTech. Key insights were then shared by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of Indonesia and PT Life Cycle Indonesia, addressing the current development of Indonesia’s electric vehicle market and EV battery waste management. The program was further enriched by perspectives from German expertise represented by ECOLOGICON GmbH, highlighting technological approaches and best practices in EV battery recycling.̀ư

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the EV Battery Recycling Pilot Project, delivered jointly by EKONID as the project coordinator, PT Mukti Mandiri Lestari as the pilot project facility, and Universitas Padjadjaran as the academic partner.
